December 3, 2010 - Surprise! - This afternoon when Haden got home from school there was a surprise package for him and Hadley on the front porch. It came all the way from the North Pole from Santa himself!
Inside was a book called "The Elf on the Shelf." The story is all about an elf that Santa sends from the North Pole to be his helper. The elf keeps and eye on Haden and Hadley all day and reports back to the North Pole every night to give Santa an update. Each morning when he gets back from his long trip, he ends up in a different spot in the house. Each morning the kids are supposed to find the elf in his new spot. The kids are not allowed to touch the elf or else he will lose his magical powers that help him get back to the North Pole.
Meet our elf - Flash. Haden named him this because he gets to and from the North Pole in a "flash." Today, he is sitting on the mantle with a good view of all that goes on. Hope he gives Santa good reports everynight!
Tonight, we went out to dinner with our neighbors to Tortugas Pizza! Yummy! After dinner we went back to their house to play Mario Kart on the Wii. Haden had a blast and was serious about his game.
Hadley on the other hand just had a great time playing with the dogs and all their toys in the toy basket.
Good Times!
Serious Wii action going on!
Check out the determined faces in order to be the winner!
I love how Haden uses his mouth when he is in serious mode.
To funny! Thanks Andy and Lera for letting us hang out with you tonight! We had a great time! Haden loved hanging out with the guys until 1:30am. Yes, 1:30am. ;-)
