March 28, 2011 - Firepit - David has been dreaming of a firepit for our backyard for a while now. His dreams are finally becoming a reality today. We started with a very big hole and filled it with cement.

Next, we placed the rock in a circle around the cement. It was fun trying to fit the rocks together. It was like working a big puzzle.

Hadley was a big help! She loved filling up the bucket with water and pouring the water into the cement and mortar mix.

Up goes the next row.

We did and inside layer and an outside layer to give it some depth.

Hadley is having a blast. It is pretty chilly outside, but the cold is not bothering her a bit. She is having fun playing in the water.

As always, she dressed herself this morning. I told her it was going to be cold and she was going to get wet. She did very well putting on a warm Cookie Monster fleece and her rainboots.

The kids put their footprints in the cement and I wrote our name and the year. Can't wait to enjoy lots of outdoor fires, hotdog roasts and making smores. Thanks to Mr. Warren and his boys for all their help! David is so excited!!!
