May 26, 2010 - Proud - At the end of the school year, the kids were presented with awards. How proud are we that Haden received the Outstanding Character Award for his class.
Outstanding - Out-stand-ing Adjective:
1. Standing out among others of its kind; prominent
Character - Char-ac-ter Noun:
1. The combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person, group or thing from another
When I saw Haden's teacher, she told me he received the award because he is a friend to all and does not see the differences in people, only the good in them. He is friendly to all the kids and all the kids want to be Haden's friend. He is kind and has a very sweet spirit about him. She said whatever we are teaching him at home is not going unnoticed. He truly has outstanding character. When she told me this, I was completely blown away, because the honest truth is, this is what I pray with Haden every night. Our prayer is that Haden is a friend to all of the kids in his class. We pray that he sees the good in all people and treats all people the way he would want to be treated. We pray for him to be kind and have a loving heart. It is not what we are doing at home, but that God is hearing our prayers and guiding Haden's paths in the right direction. And most importantly, that Haden is listening and understanding what is asked of him. All I can say is that we are one proud Mommy and Daddy!
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6
