August 18, 2009 - Happy Birthday Haden!!! - Today Haden is 5 years old!!
This morning we went to read a book to Haden's class for his birthday. Instead of bringing any kind of sweets or candy, the school asks that you buy a book and donate it to the school in honor of your child's birthday. They also ask that you come read the book to the class on their birthday. Haden picked out a book about how much fun school is and David read the book to his class. It was so much fun to see the kids and especially Haden at school. (He is sitting underneath the white board with his birthday hat on.) It was so funny to watch the kids as David read the book. When he got to the part about how much fun it was to eat in the cafeteria, all the kids started to raise their hands and tell David what their favorite foods were. It was everything from salsa, chilli, tabasco, chips, pizza, grapes. So cute are kindergarteners! After he finished the book, we sang Happy Birthday to Haden. It was a great time!
After school, I took Haden to Toys R Us to spend his birthday money and gift cards. He was so excited to get to pick out whatever he wanted with his "own money." He got Indiana Jones Legos, a new lightsaber and some Star Wars guys. He was in hog heaven. After that we went to celebrate again at La Fiesta for dinner. The mariachi band sang to Haden and he got to wear the hat. He loved every bit of it.
