March 14, 2011 - Spring Break - Spring break has officially begun today for Haden. We have all kinds of activities planned for this week and he is so excited! Our first stop on this spring break adventure is Aldridge Gardens. Today, they were hosting an event for kids called Hooks in the Garden. For $5 you can fish all day and even keep what you catch. Haden has enjoyed fishing with Grandaddy many times, so he knew exactly what to do. We fished with some big slimy worms which thanks to Grandaddy, I knew how to bait our hooks. Carson, Kim and Baby Cooper went with us. Kim and I said that Dad would be proud to know that even though he had a house full of girls, he taught us all how to bait our own hooks.

Fishing teaches you lots of patience. I had to tell Haden that right off the bat!

He did well casting his rod. When he fishes with Grandaddy they use a cane pole.

No luck yet!

Hadley is cheering him on!

She even tries to catch one herself.

Finally! We caught a good one! Haden was so excited. He watched the bobber very closely and when it finally went under, he realed the fish right on in.

We ran into a friend of mines husband and their kids while fishing. The little kids decided to take a break and eat some "goldfish" while Haden kept on fishing.

Hadley and Walt want to catch one too!

By the end of the day we ended up catching 3 fish which I thought was pretty good!

Haden had a great time and so did I! It is fun to do simple things like taking your kids fishing.

Sweet Hadley never caught anything, but she had lots of fun eating all the goldfish and playing in the water.

After fishing, we were all hungry! We came home and had a yummy picnic lunch in the backyard. Having kids means you make lots of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I forgot how yummy they were!

What a beautiful day for a picnic!

This afternoon, our sweet friend Marcos (from La Fiesta) had a birthday party for his little boy at the park. We were so excited about the party and everyone had a good time playing.

Swing!

Yummy cupcakes!

The kids were all excited about the pinata. Haden could not wait to take a whack at it.

He got a pretty good shot at the neck!

The kids had lots of fun playing on the playground.

Hadley wanted to do everything Haden did.

Haden loves to play on the bars.

Super strong.

Can't wait until tomorrow! Stay tuned!
